My favorite part (without spoiling anything) is when Marianne tells Edward she is running away to Scotland。 Honestly, this is something that I say at least once a day, so I completely understand! 。。。more

Sweet regency romance featuring a swoonworthy “working man” hero and a secluded yet spunky young lady as the heroine。 Although I would have liked to have seen more of the tension keeping them apart earlier rather than having it as a big reveal at the end, Edward and Marianne were so well drawn and believable I thoroughly enjoyed their story anyway! I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series, especially if they feature some of the amazing side characters from this one!

This book is so amazing! I read it almost all in one sitting。 I loved reading a book from the working class point of view。 Deborah has a way of making sure that the readers are enthralled。 I also really appreciate stories with a resolution, so this story made my heart happy。 Thank you Deborah for all your hard work for this book to be printed。

Clean romance of the slow-build sort from a new-to-me author。 I liked the concept of looking at one tradesman's family, who has moved up in society, choosing to hire a tradesman and how they respond to him。 Though the plot is centered on the youngest daughter of the Coventry family and Mr。 Steele, a talented woodcarver, it also showed a view of relationships I hadn't read of in a long while。 When your socioeconomic life improves, how do you respond to those who are still where you were?
